Rules for the International Tennis Tournament BITS Lifestyle 2025

1. General Rules

  • Game Rules:

All tournaments in the BITS Lifestyle 2025 International Tennis Tournament will follow the rules outlined below.

  • Fair Play:

Players and teams must adhere to fair play rules and display sportsmanlike conduct.

  • Age Categories:

    Women:

    • One unified category 25+.
    • Registration is only possible in mixed doubles.

    Men:

    • Three age categories: 25+, 40+, 55+.

2. Registration

  • Entry Fee:

    • €25 per individual category (for the first 4 tournaments: the amount is credited to the participant's account on the BITS Lifestyle platform).

    • €50 for the MIX category – €25 per person (for the first 4 tournaments: the amount is credited to the participant's account on the BITS Lifestyle platform).

  • Deadline: Applications must be submitted two days before the start of each tournament (Wednesday) by 11:59 PM.

  • Draw Announcement: The draw and match schedule will be published on the website the day before the tournament starts (Thursday) by 12:00 PM.

3. Tournament Rules

  • Match Format:

    All matches use the extended game format with tie-breaks.

    Singles: Tie-breaks played to 7 points.
    Doubles: Match tie-breaks played to 10 points.

    A match is won by the first player/team to win two extended games.

  • Each match is scored according to the BITS LIFESTYLE TENNIS INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT RULES, which serve as the basis for qualification for the MASTERS TOURNAMENT.

Beyond direct qualifications, all players/teams earn points for each match played. Based on the overall rankings, the four highest-scoring teams will also qualify, ensuring a total of four more teams per category advance to the Masters Tournament.

Qualification Rules for Masters Tournament

  • All players who placed in the top four at any BITS tournament during the 2025 season automatically qualify for the main draw.
  • After that, pairs ranked in the TOP 24 on the official BITS ranking list in their category are included in the main draw.
  • All other players will compete in Friday’s qualification rounds for the remaining 8 spots in the main draw.
  • If you lose in the qualification round, you will continue the competition in the consolation tournament.
  • The total number of pairs per category is limited to 32.

Registration Fee
All participants (both directly qualified and newly registered pairs) pay a registration fee of 25 EUR.
The fee is paid electronically during registration through our application system.

Final registration deadline: May 19, 2025 by 23:59 (11:59 PM)

Pair Composition Changes
If you wish to participate with a different partner (due to injury or other reasons).
Both players must collectively have enough points to rank among the top 32 pairs in their category.

Additional Provisions
In case of pair cancellation, it is recommended to find a replacement pair that meets qualification requirements.

Important Information
The final list of participants will be published on May 20, 2025.

  • Preliminary Rounds:
    After the first match played, teams are split into Winners Bracket and Consolation Round Bracket.
  • Winners Bracket:
    Standard knockout format until the final match decides the champion.
    A match for third place determines final rankings.

  • Consolation Round Bracket:
    First-match losing teams compete in a separate knockout format.
    The top three teams are determined.
    A third-place match is played.
    The winner qualifies for the Masters Tournament, giving strong teams a second chance.
  • RULES FOR MIXED DOUBLES

Men play against men, and women against women. The system follows the same rules as above.

 

This format ensures fairness and allows all teams to compete even after an early loss while rewarding consistent performance through a points-based qualification system.

4. Age Restrictions

  • Eligibility:

    • Open to all recreational tennis players who have not been active competitors in any official federation (national, ITF, ATP, WTA) in the last four years, except in recreational and veteran competitions (e.g., national recreational events, ITF Tennis Masters Tour, etc.).
    • Players who have never reached ATP ranking 1000 or higher are eligible to participate.

 

Tournament Schedule:

  • Friday: Gathering and opening matches – likely the 55+ category.

  • Saturday: Main matches.

  • Sunday: Finals and closing ceremony.

5. Tournament Dates and Locations

  • 1st Tournament:

    • March 14–16, 2025 – Zagreb (Croatia)

  • 2nd Tournament:

    • March 21–23, 2025 – Ljubljana (Slovenia)

  • 3rd Tournament:

    • March 28–30, 2025 – Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

  • 4th Tournament:

    • May 04, 2025 – Maribor (Slovenia)

  • MASTERS TOURNAMENT:

    • May 23–25, 2025 – Umag (Croatia)

6. Officials and Staff

  • Officials: Trained referees are provided for all matches.

  • Medical Assistance: No medical staff are present on-site, but first-aid equipment is available.

  • Volunteers: Volunteers will assist with registration, match coordination, and other tasks.

7. Safety and Health

  • Insurance: Players and visitors must ensure they have appropriate insurance coverage – this must be arranged individually.

  • Hygiene: Clean sanitary facilities and adherence to hygiene guidelines are guaranteed.

  • Local health institutions will be notified about the event.

8. Prizes and Scoring

In each category, winners receive:

  • Regular Tournament:

    • 1st Place: €1,000 voucher

    • 2nd Place: €500 voucher

    • 3rd Place: €300 voucher

    • Best Loser: €200 voucher

  • Masters Tournament:

    • 1st Place: €3,000 voucher

    • 2nd Place: €1,500 voucher

    • 3rd Place: €1,000 voucher

    • Best Loser: €500 voucher

Total Prize Pool: €56,000

  • Masters Tournament: €24,000

  • Each Individual Tournament: €8,000

Scoring:

  • National level: 100-point ranking.

  • Masters Tournament: 250-point ranking.

9. Promotion and Communication

  • Public Announcements: Organizers will keep players and the public informed of all key tournament details.

  • Media: Media coverage and engagement with local journalists are ensured.

  • Sponsors: Sponsors will be promoted and represented at the tournaments.

10. Court Preparation

  • Court Maintenance: Organizers will ensure proper court maintenance before and during the tournament.

  • Markings: Courts must have clear markings, with well-set and taut nets.

11. Dispute Resolution

  • Complaints and Disciplinary Procedures: Players can file complaints, which will be handled according to BITS Lifestyle rules.

  • Disciplinary Sanctions: Disciplinary measures may be applied for rule violations or unsportsmanlike conduct, as outlined in the BITS Lifestyle regulations.
