Rules for the International Tennis Tournament BITS Lifestyle 2025/26

1. General Rules

Game Rules
All tournaments within the BITS Lifestyle International Tennis Tournament 2025/2026 will be held under the rules listed below.

  • Fair Play:
    Players and teams must adhere to the rules of fair play and demonstrate sportsmanlike behavior.
  • ITF Recognition Clause:
    Although the BITS rules apply, all matches respect the spirit of ITF tennis rules.
  • Age Categories:
    • Women' doubles 70+
      Combined age of both players must be 70 years (e.g. one 35 and second 35 or one 25 and second 45).
    • Men's doubles 80+
      Combined age of both players must be 80 years (e.g. one 40 and second 40 or one 35 and second 45).
    • Mixed doubles 70+
      Combined age of both players must be 70 years (e.g. one 35 and second 35 or one 25 and second 45).

2. Registration

Entry fee: €30 per person (€60 per pair).

Registration deadline: registrations must be submitted no later than two days before the start of each tournament (Thursday) by 23:59.

Draw announcement: the draw and match schedule will be published on the website one day before the start of the tournament (Friday) by 12:00.

3. Tournament Rules

System of play:

We play Tie-break sets.
best of two tie-break sets to 10 points. The winner of the match is the first team to win two encounters.

Preliminaries: after the first match, teams are divided into:

Tournament A winner and tournament B looser than
• Main Draw (MD): classic knockout system up to the final match, which determines the winner.
• Consolation: the team (pair) that loses the first match plays in the consolation knockout group. Matches are also played for third place. The winner of the consolation draw qualifies for the Masters.

Qualification for the Masters Tournament:

• All players who placed in the top four at any BITS tournament in the 2025/2026 season automatically qualify for the main draw.
• Pairs ranked among the TOP32 on the official BITS ranking in their category are included in the main draw.
• All tournament winners and TOP32 on the official BITS ranking automatically qualify for the Masters. The rest play additional Friday qualifications for 32 spots.

• Qualifications can be played by players who participated in at least one tournament in the current season.
• Minimum participation: 36 pairs.

4. Eligibility

Recreational players – if you have never been among ATP/WTA TOP 800, you are welcome!

In the case that a player who has ever been ranked on the ATP list (but not higher than TOP 800) participates in the tournament, his partner must never have competed in an official professional tournament – not even in youth categories.

5. Tournament Schedule

  • Saturday: most tournaments will be held on Saturday; the exact format depends on the number of registrations.
  • Friday: if necessary – gathering and opening matches.
  • Sunday: if necessary – finals and closing event.

6. Officials and other Stuff

  • Referees: licensed referees will be present at all matches.
  • Medical assistance: medical staff will not be present, but basic first aid will be available.
  • Staff: BITS staff will assist with registration, coordination, and logistics.

  • GRAZ, AUSTRIA – 11.04.2026
  • BANJA LUKA, BOSNIA AND HERCEGOVINA – 09.05.2026
  • MASTERS TOURNAMENT – TBD

8. Safety and Health

  • Anti-doping rules: participants agree to compete without prohibited substances, in accordance with WADA standards for recreational athletes.
  • Insurance: players and visitors are responsible for their own insurance.
  • Hygiene: clean sanitary facilities and compliance with hygiene guidelines are ensured.

9. Prizes and Scoring

Regular tournaments (per team/pair):

  • 0–11pairs: no cash prizes
  • 12–23 pairs:
    Tournament A: 1st place €300, 2nd place €200, 3rd place €150, consolation winner €100
    Tournament B: 1st place €200, 2nd place €150, 3rd place €100, consolation winner €60
  • 24-47 pairs:
    Tournament A: 1st place €500, 2nd place €300, 3rd place €200, consolation winner €150
    Tournament B: 1st place €300, 2nd place €200, 3rd place €150, consolation winner €100
  • 48 pairs and more:
    Tournament A: 1st place €1.000, 2nd place €500, 3rd place €300, consolation winner €200
    Tournament B: 1st place €500, 2nd place €300, 3rd place €200, consolation winner €150

Total Prize Pool: €143,000

Scoring:

  • Regular tournaments: 100 points
  • Masters tournament: 250 points

Masters tournament (per team/ pair):

  • Tournament A: 1st place €5.000, 2nd place €3.000, 3rdplace €2.000, consolation winner €1.000
  • Tournament B: 1st place €3.000, 2nd place €2.000, 3rd place €1.000, consolation winner €500

10. Dispute Resolution

  • Complaints and disciplinary proceedings: all disputes are resolved under the BITS Lifestyle tournament rules.
  • In more serious cases, an independent appeals committee may be involved.

11. Court Preparation

Playing courts will be professionally prepared, with appropriate markings and properly installed nets.

12. Code of Conduct

  • Players, officials, and spectators must respect others present at the venue.
  • Verbal or physical abuse, aggressive behavior, or inappropriate conduct will result in immediate disqualification or removal.
  • The use of prohibited substances during the tournament is strictly prohibited.

13. Equipment and Dress Code

  • Only standard tennis equipment is allowed.
  • Players must wear appropriate tennis footwear and use suitable tennis equipment.
  • Balls: official match balls will be provided by the organizer.

14. Bad weather / Force majeure

In case of bad weather or unforeseen events (e.g., pandemic, natural disasters), organizers reserve the right to:

  • Postpone matches
  • Shorten formats
  • Reschedule or cancel matches

Force Majeure Clause: in case of cancellation due to natural disasters, pandemics, or force majeure, entry fees will not be refunded.

15. Photograpy and Media Rights

By registering, players agree to be photographed or filmed for media and promotional purposes.
Players may request in writing not to be tagged on social media.

16. Limitation of Liability

Participation is at the players’ own risk. Organizers do not accept responsibility for injuries, lost equipment, or damage during the tournament.

17. Warm-up and Delays

Each match includes a 5-minute warm-up.
A delay of up to 15 minutes is allowed. Non-attendance may result in forfeiture of the match.

18. Substitutions and Partner changes

Partner substitutions are allowed only before the first match and must meet all participation conditions.
Changes after the start of the tournament are possible only with a medical certificate and organizer’s approval.

19. Medical Liability Disclaimer

Participants acknowledge the physical risks and waive any claims against the organizers for injuries, accidents, or health complications during the event.

20. Refund / cancellation Policy

In case of cancellation of participation, the entry fee is non-refundable, except for medical reasons with documentation submitted at least 72 hours before the tournament.

21. Express Agreement with rules

By registering, players confirm that they have read, understood, and accepted these rules and conditions.
